Wild Rabbit
Oryctolagus cuniculus, family hares - Leporidae
Rabbits have an excellent hearing. That is necessary for them to be
aware of dangers in time and to manage to flee quickly enough.
Their ears are formed like longish funnels. That enables the immediate
perception of sounds. Each of their auricles can be turned
autonomically. This is the reason why they can hear forwards by one ear
and backwards by the other ear. So they obtain a hearing radius of
360°, this enables them to locate even very soft sounds from all
around in the environment.
