In 1990 I found about 3600 books of the 1950s in a former loan library
in Mainz – in that space I founded the independent forum for art, called
"Kästrich".
Over the years, I made several installations with the books, which were
called "Bücherwand". I also assembled the last pages of 96 of the books
and performed readings of the last sentence of each page, ending with
the word "ENDE".
For the sound in this Soundbag the original performance recording of all
96 last sentences is divided in 8 parallel tracks, each containing 16
sentences. The image shows a multiple exposure of all 96 pages that are
tinted in 6 different colors.
