Ewerdt Hilgemann
Sculpture Cerberus from the year 2000
Bundesallee at corner Nachodstraße, Berlin-Wilmersdorf, Germany
The sculpture was created as an imploded hollow cube. Ewerdt Hilgemann
extracts the air out off the stainless steel cube by using a vacuum pump until it
implods. In this process it looses its previous geometric shape and form
and gains a new form that refers to the physical process of its coming
into existence.
We could imagine the temporal process of buckling of the cube and the sound
that is created at that time.
