Takehisa Kosugi
Opto-Electronic Music
Under the title "Events in Time and Space - Music" the
Gallery Giannozzo Berlin
presented the concert by Takehisa Kosugi
"Opto-Electronic Music" on May 13th, 1984 in Künstlerhaus Bethanien,
Berlin. Below an extract from the press release to the concert.
Takehisa Kosugi utilizes a number of instruments, including violin,
voice and electronic devices, which he has developed himself. His
musical performances are improvisations based partly on his compositions
and prompted by a specific setting of the performance. He combines
visual as well as musical activities, believing that music should create
events in time and space, thus stimulating equally the audio and visual
senses.
Takehisa Kosugi says: "A performance should give the feeling of the
invisible side of a situation, it should suggest the mysterious ...
seeing sounds as well as hearing sounds".
Further information in the book
Berlin Events,
which was published in 1989 by
Kunstverein Giannozzo Berlin
and which presents all Berlin Events by Takehisa Kosugi.
